High performance hollow glass microspheres are hollow spherical powdered ultra-light inorganic non-metallic materials. They are widely used and have excellent properties. They will become the mainstream of new composite materials in the 21st century.
Product Profile
Its true density is 0.18-0.27g/cm3 and particle size is between 20-110 um. It has the characteristics of weight, light volume, low thermal conductivity, high compressive strength and good fluidity.
Why choose high performance hollow glass beads?
(1) Improving liquidity performance
High performance hollow glass microspheres are small spheres with high spherical ratio and ball bearing effect, which can improve fluidity and reduce the viscosity and internal stress of resin mixtures. Therefore, in the process of processing, the dynamic heat generation of composite materials is less, which can prevent insufficient lubrication and local thermal decomposition. It is easier to extrude during injection molding. It not only reduces the defects of products, but also improves the production efficiency by 15%-20%.
(2) Higher resin substitution rate.
High performance hollow glass microspheres have the smallest specific surface area and low oil absorption. They have good dispersibility in the mixture and are easy to be compacted and fused. Therefore, they have high filling properties, which can greatly reduce the use of resin, increase the amount of filler, effectively reduce VOC index and reduce the cost.
(3) Reduce the shrinkage and warpage of products.
The properties of high performance hollow glass beads with isotropy and high filling content make the size of products very stable and reduce shrinkage and warpage. When the filling ratio is appropriate, the toughness, impact resistance and surface hardness of the product are improved significantly.
(4) The volume cost is more economical.
The density of high performance hollow glass beads is only a fraction of that of resin. Only a small amount of hollow glass beads can be used to replace heavy materials. When the unit volume cost is considered, rather than the unit weight cost, the high performance hollow glass beads can significantly reduce the cost.
(5) Adjusting product density
The density of high performance hollow glass beads is usually 0.18-0.27g/cm3, while the density of mineral fillers is generally about 2.7-4.4g/cm3 (the data we use must be the true density of particles). In order to obtain the same volume, it is necessary to use 14 kg or more talc powder to obtain the effect of using 1 kg of hollow glass beads. So adding different proportion of hollow glass beads can get the desired density.
